When a user's 'User Principle Name' (UPN) is changed in Entra Admin Centre, it can impact access to custom applications, including ProvisionPoint.
The UPN is similar to your email address but may at times be different.
Updates to a UPN will not impact ProvisionPoint access
Here's how ProvisionPoint handles such changes:
Initial Login and UPN Storage
Upon the first login to ProvisionPoint, the application stores the user's UPN, as it is at that moment. The UPN is used to identify the user within the application and is stored in your profile.
Handling UPN Changes
If there are any changes to the user's UPN, whether due to name changes or case sensitivity adjustments, ProvisionPoint runs an object ID check against the user.
This check ensures that the user's access remains unaffected. This verifies the user's identity beyond just the UPN, and ensures that there is no impact of the user's access including ownership and access to the Actions tab.
