When using the ProvisionPoint API to make a new request or Import an error is displayed:

Insufficient permissions to create a service instance for service definition

Why do I see this error and how can it be resolved?

 

Cause

Each Service Definition in the app has a list of Requestor's who are allow to make new requests or Imports into the Service Definition. 

When the API is setup the app registration should have been added to a Group in Entra. This group needs to have permissions to make a request as well.

Resolution

1. Check that the API is a member of a Group in Entra (ProvisionPoint API or the ProvisionPoint app manager group)
   1. If it is not a member of a Group add it to one
2. Check the Requestor settings in the Service Definitions Overview tab. The Group should be listed
   
   
   1. If it is not Listed, add it
3. If you are using a Delegated Requestor, ensure they are a member of one of the Groups as well
4. Remove the errors from your CSV file and make your API call again
