I have made a new request or update, but I am seeing the error below:

The directory object quota limit for the Principal has been exceeded

Why am I seeing the error and how can I resolve this?

Cause

This issue occurs when the service account or Requestor used for group creation has created 250 directory objects in Azure Active Directory.  This is a known limitation published by Microsoft and currently, there is no method to increase this limit.

Resolution

If you do receive this error, the following options are available:

• Use a different requestor account
• Change to another service account for Group creation
  • If you replace the Service account in ProvisionPoint, any future updates or requests will use the new Service account
    
  • If the Service account does not have permissions on the Group, Team, Site you may get an unauthorised error. Add the Service account to make the request
• Change to using app permissions for Group creation - turn off Group operations.
  • This is required if you are limiting Owner permissions on your requests so may not be possible.
