The 'Check Compliance' Action can be run at any time by the service instance owners or named people or groups of the workspace.
When selected chose the Managed Compliance Policies linked to the Service Definition, the results will be visible in the Timeline.
 
Actions are available to the owners but can also be delegated to other people or groups. Approvals can be linked to the request of an Action to ensure it is not run when it should not be.
