Question

Answer

Approvals in Microsoft Teams enables everyone, from frontline workers to corporate headquarters employees, to easily create, manage, and share approvals directly from your hub for teamwork.

A Teams approval can be linked to a workspace creation, actions and more in ProvisionPoint using pre webhooks and Power Automate (other options available).

To set up the workflow complete the following:

Create a Flow in PowerAutomate to initialise an approval in Teams
Expand to see the Flow setup

Set the Trigger to Http request (premium)

Who can trigger the flow: Must be set to Anyone to allow the app registration to make the request
HTTP URL - will be blank until the Flow is saved

Add Schema - expand to see an example

Search for Approvals and select the 'Start and wait for an approval action'
1. Select the Approval Type from the list of available:
2. Add a Title that will be shown in the approval card
3. Assign it to a person or multiple people
4. Add Details text that will be used
  1. Use the dynamic values to build out the message
    For example
```
Please review the following details for Title: ['title']
 - Requested by:['requestedBy']}
Click here to see the request details in full: https://app.provisionpoint.com/service-instance/['serviceInstanceId']/info
```
5. Add Links to include attachments
Add a Condition step, use dynamic value 'Outcome' is equal to Approve
1. False = cancel
2. True = continue (start provisioning)
Add a Http call to the ProvisionPoint API, to the condition outputs to continue or cancel the request. This will change the status in ProvisionPoint which is currently Paused.
Use the endpoints below:
1. Continue: https://[ProvisionPointAPIInstance]/execution/['operationId']/continue
2. Cancel: https://[ProvisionPointAPIInstance]/execution/['operationId']/cancel
3. Both will require:
  1. Replace [ProvisionPointAPIInstance] with the appropriate value for your ProvisionPoint instance. Expand to see options

    UK - https://api.provisionpoint.com/v1.0
    EU - https://009api.eu-pp365.app/v1.0
    CH - https://016api.ch-pp365.app/v1.0
    US - https://006api.us-pp365.app/v1.0
    AU - https://011api.au-pp365.app/v1.0
  2. OperationId from the parse JSON
  3. Oauth authentication via the API app registration
  4. A Body can be added with the outcome details if needed
Save the Flow and copy the webhook URL

Create or edit a Service Definition, go to the Developers tab
Expand to see the Service Definition Steps
1. Enable Pre Webhook
2. Set pre webhook message type to Detail
3. Paste in the Pre webhook Url copied from the flow.
4. Enable 'Pause execution until external response'
5. Save the Service Definition
Make a new request to see the flow and Approvals in action.
Check the Run Status in PowerAutomate
1. Additional steps can be added to help troubleshoot issues, for example using Scopes
